This series aims to tackle a few of the big questions about us, life and God.

Throughout the Old Testament are pictures and pointers towards Jesus Christ. Through this series, connections between the Old Testament and Jesus Christ are investigated with an emphasis on highlighting the relevance of the Old Testament in our understanding of Christ and application to Christian lives.

“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.”

- Luke 24:27

Through this series, challenging and relevant issues are investigated in light of Scripture with an intent to further understand and apply what God says about them.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. ”

- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Across the series, David’s life provides examples of how individuals can devote themselves to God, how that devotion can inform artistic expression, and also what can happen when human passions are not held in check. Each message provides a different, yet interconnected, perspective on how to live a life that honours God.

Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

The remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and the celebration of His resurrection three days later is at the very core of Christianity. Each Easter, we have the joy of celebrating this remembrance, what God the Son and God the Father went through for us to have door opened to a relationship with Him, and what it means for those who love Him and have put their faith in Him.

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

- John 11:25-26

John outlines the purpose of the book of the Gospel of John in chapter 20:30-31 where he writes:

“And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

As we move through a study of the book, we read through the testimony of the apostle John and see, and be challenged, by the compelling love of the personal Christ. In this sermon series, a personal question that is offered to be answered is ‘Why Should I Respond to the Love of Christ?’

Over 2000 years ago the Saviour of the world was born, and each Christmas is a joyous occasion as we remember and celebrate His birth – the birth of Jesus Christ
